Artistic swimming

Artistic swimming is a combination of Swimming, gymnastics, acrobatics and dance.Swimmers are performing a synchronised routine (either solo,duet,mixed duet,team and free combination) of elaborate moves in the water,accompanied by music. AS helps young athletes to develop and improve their strength, endurance, flexibility, grace, artistry, as well as exceptional breath control.

Our artistic swimming program welcomes boys and girls from 3 to 15 years old who can independently swim a distance of 25 meters and are knowledgeable in the four primary swim strokes. For those children who are not yet confident swimmers, we recommend starting with our Learn to Swim classes.

Artistic swimming includes both swimming and gymnastics (stretching) lessons, which are conducted at multiple locations across Singapore.

Private classes: If you opt for private classes you may choose between the following options: Kallang Basin Swimming Pool or your private location with a pool.

Course fees
We offer a variety of artistic swimming classes tailored to different needs, including group, small group, and private sessions. Our payment plans are designed to be flexible, accommodating your schedule and preferences, with options for monthly and quarterly payments. Each class type comes with a specific set of lesson counts and pricing, ensuring that you can find the right fit for your child's swimming and gymnastics training needs.

The duration of group classes ranges from 1 to 3 hours, varying based on the students' levels. Private classes have a duration of 1 hour.

At RASA Sports Academy, we cater to a wide range of abilities and aspirations by offering classes across three distinct levels:

Beginners Level:

• Focuses on improving swimming stroke skills.
• Introduces artistic swimming (AS) sculling techniques.
• Teaches basic positions in artistic swimming.
• Prepares athletes for Aspire Levels 1 and 2.

Intermediate Level:

• Aims to enhance AS sculling abilities.
• Works on refining AS basic positions.
• Involves learning figures in artistic swimming according to World Aquatics rules.
• Prepares athletes for Aspire Levels 3 and 4.

Competitive Level:

• Concentrates on advancing AS figures.
• Guides athletes in learning routines for solo, duet, and team performances.
• Focuses on improving the overall routine.
• Teaches the creation of routine's choreography and fosters team spirit.
• Prepares athletes for Aspire Levels 5 to 12.

These levels are designed to progress athletes from the fundamentals to competitive excellence in artistic swimming.

For artistic swimming classes, you'll need a one-piece sports swimsuit/swimming trunks, silicone swimming cap, goggles with dark lenses, nose clip, pull-kick swimming board. Intermediate and competitive level required to purchase swimming headphones.

During classes, safety is ensured through the presence of lifeguards at the pool at all times. Additionally, all coaches are certified in First Aid/CPR and have Life saving certificates.

Swimmers undergo the Aspire Assessment under Singapore Aquatics, and those who successfully complete Levels 1 to 4 are eligible to represent RASA at the Nationals and Age Groups Artistic swimming championships and Overseas Meets.

Parents or guardians are welcome to observe classes at the training venues, which include the Kallang Basin Swimming Complex and the Sports Lifestyle Centre. At the Kallang Basin Swimming Complex, an entry fee is required, which can be paid via the Active SG app at the entrance. There is no entry fee required at the Sports Lifestyle Centre.

We have our own RASA Recreational Grading Programme for our recreational classes in swimming and artistic swimming as well as regular assessments with the Singapore Swimming Association. A report (certificate) will be given after each assessment to keep you informed about your child's progress.
